2010 was the year<\/strong> that liberated me spiritually, physically and wait for it romantically. Amidst all the excitement about the World Cup and all those handsome soccer players coming to our country, I geared myself up to meeting a handsome foreigner since I\u2019d been divorced for over 2 years. Little did I know that my destiny was not going to allow me to fool around or be fooled by some foreigner who would leave after their country was knocked out.\u00a0 Anyway to cut a long story short, a divine date was set up by the stars just a few weeks before the World Cup was to begin, my ex husband and I saw each other for the 1st<\/sup> time in a while without the residual anger of him always leaving the toilet seat up or hogging the remote while we were married. Grown- up and more mature , we both realised after catching up that we want to give ourselves and our relationship another chance before we give ourselves to other people(we\u2019d both gone on dates with others during our split but nothing serious). Well, the result was us back together before the World Cup and me having to just drool, look but not touch any of the gorgeous foreign men or soccer players I saw during the world cup. Not that it was a temptation at all. LOL.<\/p>\n

Apart from my love life my other highlight is seeing a project I\u2019ve worked on for two years finally get a nod from government. I am a sexual violence survivor and founded a therapy center in 2002 and through this work and doing workshops in schools, I realised that the care I got from my private school social worker when I was young is one of the main reasons I’m still alive and giving back instead of being bitter and an abuser myself. This is when the idea of putting social workers in public schools was born. Well, after much negotiations and sharing my vision with the department of social services, we have signed an agreement and got part funding to start this in 30 schools situated around crime hot spot areas.<\/p>\n

If I were to spend NY in Kakamas,<\/strong> I would definitely bring my man so he can explain when the people there speak suiwer<\/em> Afrikaans to me. Would definitely also bring my music and some unmentionables:-)<\/p>\n

Nobody knows that I am<\/strong> actually a shy girl!!<\/p>\n
