Fragrances are truly special and are intrinsically linked to our moods, emotions, and memories. But, while we all have our favourite scents there’s still loads to discover about the world of perfumery. Here are 5 things you probably didn’t know about your favourite scent:

1. Beat the Monday blues

Perfume can be an incredible feel-good stimulant that can help to improve your mood when you’re feeling down or can even provoke special happy memories. Wearing citrus-based perfumes are a great way to reinvigorate yourself and add a bit of happiness to your day.

2. We all wear perfume differently

When it comes to perfume, everyone is unique: Everyone’s skin has a different chemistry and PH level which is why the same perfume smells different on each individual.

3. Avoid fragrance fatigue

Fragrance fatigue is your body’s natural adjustment to the same smells over time. If you’re exposed to the same smell for a long period, it can take a while for your sensitivity to that odour to return. One way to avoid fragrance fatigue when it comes to perfume is to alternate between two or more fragrances that you like.

4. Perfume is activated by body heat

To help your perfume scent last longer, it’s best to apply your chosen perfume to pulse points, such as the inside of your wrist, on your neck and behind your ears. Your perfume is activated by your body heat and applying it to the pulse points will help to prolong the scent on your skin. When applying perfume to your pulse points, be sure not to rub your wrists together as this damages the molecules of the perfume and changes the scent of the fragrance.

5. Your perfume is made up of notes

Did you know your perfume is made up of notes. A scent is defined as having top notes, heart notes and base notes. After applying the perfume, the fragrance notes will be released, starting with the top notes, which then fade to the heart notes and ending with the base notes. Typically, top notes are more delicate and do not last as long as heart and base notes. Heart notes could be spice, herbal or floral notes. You are usually able to smell the base notes the longest — common base notes include amber, musk or wood notes.

Find the best prices on perfumes online with PriceCheck now:

[41,2849
200,3995,7101,4293,4837,7102,3055,4838,4835,7103,4836,4289,5078
