With Cape Town being awarded 2014 World Design Capital, I\u2019d say we\u2019ve had a pretty good creative year too!<\/p>\n<p>Although there were a lot of outstanding candidates for Business Insider\u2019s 10 Best Ads of 2011, they looked at originality, entertainment value, and success stories to make up the 10 best. Ultimately, the top 10 were the brands and the campaigns that stood out like a sore thumb! And them some!<\/p>\n<p>Just as there was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pricecheck.co.za\/search\/?search=the+good+the+bad+and+the+ugly\" target=\"_blank\">the good, the bad and the ugly<\/a>, so too will I share the best, worst and in-between ads of 2011. All are winners in one way or another, so lets hope 2012 will be a better year than the last, with positives outweighing the negatives and with abundance of creativity.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">So here it is, my list of the best, the worst and the just ok ads. I will add one everyday to complete the list. Enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lets start with<strong> no.10 from the best ads.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>From Business Insider&#8217;s 10 Best Ads of 2011<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>one<\/strong>) <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3393O1uD_w8&amp;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>10. Canal+ &#8211; &#8220;The Bear&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/span><br \/>\nSeen so many movies you think you\u2019re qualified to direct them? Well this bear rug thinks he is, and what a fantastically special promotional ad this is for the French TV and movie studio Canal+. The public thought so too \u2013 it got 461,000 views on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>two<\/strong>) <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dIYvD9DI1ZA&amp;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>8. New Zealand Transport Agency &#8211; &#8220;Legend&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Kiwis have done a sterling job and it shows with 1.4 million views on YouTube. They have managed to bring across the message in a cleverly unique way that is both hilarious and touching.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>three<\/strong>) <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=C_CDLBTJD4M&amp;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>4. NTT Docomo &#8211; &#8220;Touch Wood SH-08C&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s debatable whether this commercial stays true to its subject, but it is beautiful nevertheless. It is shear design brilliance which is mirrored by its 7.4 million views on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>four<\/strong>) <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=R55e-uHQna0&amp;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>2. Volkswagen &#8211; &#8220;The Force&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This Darth Vader Junior needs no introduction! This commercial racked up 44.5 million views on YouTube. It is brilliant!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>From Business Insider&#8217;s 10 Worst Ads of 2011<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>five<\/strong>) <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UGUefzSP6U4&amp;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>9. J.G. Wentworth &#8211; &#8220;Three Story Opera&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Think \u201cRent\u201d and x10 on the embarrassing scale. Need-cash-now providers J.G. Wentworth really know how to get a faux opera jingle stuck in your head all day!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>six<\/strong>)<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3cqOVOYTvHk&amp;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>7. Pert Plus &#8211; &#8220;Dog Commercial&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Their slogan says it all \u2013 \u201cDon\u2019t be an animal. Use Pert Plus\u201d!
