LG’s G6 flagship is one of the new breed of smartphones leading the bezel-less revolution, but so far, we’ve only seen this gorgeous displays in high-end devices. With the Q6, LG is looking to change that and push the latest revolution in smartphones to its mid-range offering.<\/p>\n

LG says that the “Q series is the company\u2019s latest line of powerful, mid-range smartphones boasting the essential features of LG premium phones at exceptional price points. As the first in the Q series to be announced, the LG Q6 features some of the most desired innovations from LG\u2019s premium G6 smartphone and packages them in a sleek, stunning body highlighted by its FullVision display with minimized bezels. The Q6 family consists of the Q6+, Q6 and Q6\u03b1. The three variants cater to different user groups in terms of memory and storage: the Q6+ comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, the base Q6 delivers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and the most affordably-priced Q6\u03b1 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB of ROM.”<\/p>\n

At first glance, you’ll most likely mistake the Q6 for the G6, which is not surprising considering how much design DNA these handsets share. It’s when you really look at the Q6 that you’ll notice the differences, it has a slightly smaller display than the G6 – which is 5.7 inches compared to the Q6’s 5.5 inches – and the Q6 only has one rear facing camera as well as no fingerprint scanner.<\/p>\n

LG has not confirmed whether the Q6 has an IP68 rating and unlike the G6 which has a glass back, the Q6 has a “metal frame.”<\/p>\n

As expected, the Q6 carries on LG\u2019s heritage of great smartphone cameras. The smartphone incorporates a 100-degree wide angle selfie camera that allows shutterbugs to include a large group of friends and family in the shot without effort. The camera\u2019s improved LG UX 6.0 takes full advantage of the 18:9 aspect ratio of the FullVision display. Square Camera Mode makes it easy to \u201cshare your squares\u201d or create photo collages using multiple square images.<\/p>\n

LG South Africa has confirmed that the Q6 will indeed be coming to South Africa but no pricing or release date have been confirmed.<\/p>\n
