The Hisense Rock<\/a> smartphone might not be the best specced smartphone on the planet but it is one of the few rugged one available in South Africa.<\/p>\n

Clearly it must have garnered quite a fair amount of interest because Hisense has announced that they will be bringing the Rock Lite to the country.<\/p>\n

Announced at an event held recently by Hisense, the Rock Lite is a lower specced – and lower cost – version of the Rock.<\/p>\n

Unlike the Rock which was only available in black, the Rock Lite will be available in glacier blue, lime green, flame red, and dark grey.<\/p>\n

The Rock Lite is IP67 certified, safeguarding the device to be dust and water resistant, allowing it to withstand an unexpected swim underwater at a depth of 1 metre, for up to 30 minutes. The Rock Lite also offers a resilient shock resistance.<\/p>\n

It’s powered by Android Nougat, comes equipped with a 3900mAh battery and has a power saving mode developed by Hisense.<\/p>\n

The Hisense Rock Lite will be available from August at retailers nationwide, as well as selected online retailers, and will sell for a recommended retail price of R2\u00a0499.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/colgroup>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
