That&#8217;s right, Surface Pro. Not Surface Pro 5, Simply Surface Pro.<\/p>\n<p>For its latest laptop \/ tablet, Microsoft has opted to drop numerals from the naming convention.<\/p>\n<p>The new Surface Pro continues the look and feel of previous Surface Pros, but has been completely redesigned from the inside out. In fact, there are purported to be over 800 new custom parts in the Surface Pro and 99% of space inside the device has been used.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is touting up to 13.5 hours of battery life on the Surface Pro. That\u2019s 50% more than Surface Pro 4 and 35% more battery life than an iPad Pro. That&#8217;s a full 165-degree range of motion.<\/p>\n<p>The new Surface Pro is also the\u00a0lightest Surface Pro ever, starting at just under 800g and 8.5mm thin.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft has packed the new Surface Pro with the latest\u00a07th generation Intel Core, Kaby Lake, processors, as well as a fanless design on the Core m3 and the i5 variants. If you&#8217;re worried about noise from the core i7 variant, Microsoft says that you shouldn&#8217;t be as it only has the fan only comes in at 18dB.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of display, the new Surface Pro has a high-resolution 12.3\u201d PixelSense Display with 267ppi and 3:2 aspect ratio. Microsoft says that the Surface Pro\u2019s PixelSense Display has 50% more pixels than a 12\u201d MacBook.<\/p>\n<p>The new\u00a0Surface Pro now also comes with an\u00a0LTE Advanced variant &#8211; a first for the Surface Pro.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of keyboard and covers, Microsoft has used Alcantra, which it also used for the Surface laptop, to cover the new covers. The keys have a high-quality scissor mechanism and\u00a01.3 mm of key travel.<\/p>\n<p>If you need even more functionality out of the Surface Pro, Microsoft has a Surface Dock which turns the Surface Pro into a full desktop workstation with up to two 4K monitors and four additional USB ports.<\/p>\n<p>The new\u00a0Surface Pro works with the on-screen Surface Dial which was first announced with the Surface Studio, it also works\u00a0with the new Surface Pen.
