Awhile back it was announced that BlackBerry will no longer be designing or manufacturing phones internally, and at the latest CES it was hinted that a final BlackBerry phone would be officially revealed sometime early this year.

The BlackBerry Mercury will be revealed on the 25th of February

Dubbed the “BlackBerry Mercury”, the final BlackBerry phone to be designed in-house is going to be officially revealed in a press conference just ahead of the Mobile World Congress on the 25th of next month. A big move for the manufacturer, the Mercury will undoubtedly will be seen as the brand’s swan-song, and will also likely be the last time we ever see some of BlackBerry’s most iconic features. Probably the most well-know of these is the classic QWERTY keyboard which BlackBerry included on most of their phones while most other manufacturers made the move toward touchscreen keys.

It’s likely that the Mercury will be a mid to high range device; with some of the hardware will include a 18-megapixel rear camera, Snapdragon 625 processor and 3G of RAM.
