Google updates the Nexus 7

0

Do you remember Steve Jobs saying the 7” form factor not being ideal for customers? Well the greatest inventor in the world got it wrong. The iPad mini is a resounding success and Google is following the lead with an updated version of the Nexus 7.

Why is the 7” form factor successful? The tablet fits easily into the hands of the user, does not weigh a lot and makes a brilliant media consuming device. The Google Nexus 7 will feature the latest version of Android and will be priced below the iPad mini to ensure adoption on a large scale.

Google is steadily ramping up the importance of the Nexus range of products and showing their interest in hardware. As expected, the new Nexus 7 is a 7-inch tablet running the unannounced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. It will be available in a 16GB, 32GB or 64GB version just like the iPad mini. Among the key features are an HD screen (with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution), front and rear cameras (1.2 and 5.0 megapixel respectively), Bluetooth 4.0, a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU (the same graphics chip used in the Samsung Galaxy S4).

So it is becoming Apple vs Google in tablet land. Which one will you buy and why?
