OpenCoffeeClub – Cape Town

0

So, I finally made it to an event. After being on the 27 Dinner waiting list in March, I finally got my chance to go to an event attended by like-minded people in the industry.

Onno and I went along, and I’m proud to say we were in the last four people left. 🙂 Not sure everyone left so early, but maybe it was just one of those days. It was thoroughly enjoyable and it was good to meet some old friends, and some completely new faces – some very famous in the blogging/web community.

A big thanks to Eric Edelstein for organising a successful event and Anton and the rest of the guys at the Extreme Hotel for making it possible.

Don’t worry we’ll be getting some stylish business cards soon, but it was great to chat and share thoughts with Francois and Lara from quicksites and Gavin and Shelley from TrafficSynergy. Finally we met Henk from Skyrove, who I mentioned before in the Blog Awards post. They’re doing wonders in the shared-internet industry and are helping South Africa overcome the burden that is Telkom’s monopoly.

Also, of course, Vinny Lingham, was there, but alas he’d zipped out before we could get a chance to chat. Uno also made a fleeting visit, but alas the Genii were being hunted and Maximilian was just too quick.

But, there’ll hopefully be a next time and then we can get chatting to some more people.

Share.
