0

A new month brings some new games for hungry console and PC owners, and May has some exciting releases in store! From zombie-apocalypses to building new civilisations, we’ve rounded up the most anticipated games to keep your eyes on:

State of Decay 2

Release date: 22 May 2018 (Xbox One | PC)

The first State of Decay released back in 2013 to little buzz, but it was one of the best zombie games around. The sequel ups the ante and delivers more open-world, third-person survival-RPG action, but adds new weapons, fresh enemies, a larger environment, and a whole lot more to do to ensure your crew outlasts the apocalypse. On top of that, it will support drop-in co-op play so that you can enlist a couple friends to help keep the roaming hordes at bay.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Release date: 4 May 2018 (Switch)

If you’re a fan of old-school platformers and own a Switch, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze should be on your must-play list. Essentially a love-letter to the 2D side-scrolling era, Tropical Freeze (which originally released on the Wii) is colourful, difficult, and inventive, but while it maintains the challenge and tough bosses, it also adds a more accessible and fun Funky Mode for newcomers to the series.

Conan Exiles

Release date: 8 May 2018 (Xbox One | PS4 | Already available on PC)

Conan Exiles is an open-world action adventure game which throws you into the world of Conan the Barbarian, but you won’t be a sword-wielding badass from the outset, but rather an exile who has to learn the dangers of the land in order to build your own civilisation. The game has built a sizeable community on PC, so if the console editions can reproduce the experience, Conan Exiles should be a great choice for RPG fans.
