My computer is so slow

Probably the most common computer problem of all. A slow computer can be caused by a variety of different problems, such as:

  • Fragmented data: To solve this problem simply run a “defrag” on your computer.
  • Malicious software: Get yourself a decent antivirus and scan your computer regularly.
  • Too many programmes installed. Uninstall any programmes that you don’t use or haven’t used in awhile.

You computer could also be running slowly because it is using outdated hardware. Remember that if you intend on running the latest software you may need to update hardware like graphics cards, CPUs or your hard drive.

My smartphone screen in cracked

A common problem that happens to many people and can be quite expensive to repair. The most obvious solution is to buy a decent phone cover that should both lightweight and sturdy. The cover should also protrude slightly over the edge of the phone so that if it falls face down the phone never makes contact with the ground.

Another useful protection is a glass screen protector, so that if you phone falls the protector will get cracked rather than the actual screen.

My smartphone is constantly overheating

There could be a few reasons that your phone is overheating but luckily all of them are easily solved. Firstly, make sure that your phone is never left in contact with direct sunlight or kept in your pocket all day.

Secondly, keep your screen as dimmed as possible and turn it off during the night when you go to bed. Finally, delete any unused apps from your phone, and shut down apps when you are not using them.

My internet is running too slowly

Whether it’s browsing, downloading or streaming a slow internet connection can get frustrating quickly. To solve the problem first head over the speedtest.net to test the speed of your internet and compare it with the speed advertised by your ISP.

Your minimum speed should never be less that 50% of what is advertised by your ISP. Then check if your have any torrent clients running in the background, or any malicious software on your hard drive. Next, check that your network card’s drivers are up to date by regularly updating your OS.

Also, before panicking you can always switch your modem on and off again.
