Innovation is what drives the latest designs and functionality in smartphones, and Apple have been among the world leaders in innovation for years. And for those wondering what new offerings the next iPhone will feature may have just had that question answered.
Apple have recently joined the Wireless Power Consortium, a global conglomeration of tech companies dedicated to the development of wireless charging technologies.
The Wireless Power Consortium are already responsible for the Qi wireless charging stands already being used by Samsung, and a variation is also currently being used as a charging port for the Apple Watch. While it hasn’t been confirmed by Apple, it is very likely that if a wireless iPhone charger is released it will function much like the Apple Watch charger.
Apart from the inclusion of a wireless charging port the new iPhone will have a few other new features. These include an OLED display and a new ‘Home” button.
