Ultra-Powerful Upgradable Gaming Laptop Revealed by Alienware

0

At CES 2019, PC hardware company Alienware unveiled a new range of gaming laptops which feature upgradable components, adding a whole new element of longevity to the gaming laptop market.

There are four different models planned in the series, ranging from very good to the insanely impressive, and the range of key specs are as follows:

  • Display: IPS 1920 x 1080 60Hz/144Hz
  • Intel Core i7 3.6GHz/ Intel Core i7 4.6 GHz/ Intel Core i9 5 GHz
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB/ NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 6GB/ NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 8GB
  • RAM: 8GB/16GB/32GB/64GB
  • Storage: Single/Double/Triple drive options ranging from 256GB SSD single to 116GB Optane SSD + 116GB Optane SSD + 1TB Hybrid Drive triple drive.

If you have a look at the specs on the top of the range model, upgrading it shouldn’t be a concern for roughly a quarter of a century, but it provides buyers with the option to keep this rig for the foreseeable future because they have the ability to slot in new components as they choose.

Pricing for SA hasn’t been released yet, but as with most Alienware products you can expect it to carry a pretty significant premium. Due to the ability to upgrade parts, though, many are likely to see this as something worth investing in.
