While the tech industry has helped contribute some massive improvements to the music world, no one is yet to reinvent a particular instrument… until now.
Introducing the Oddball Drum Machine by Oddball Studios, the device is essentially a drum-machine inside of a traditional bouncy-ball. Using pressure-sensitive haptic technology inside of the ball, users can trigger sounds by throwing, catching, bouncing, and even just tapping it in order to activate their pre-programmed sounds, such as cymbals, bass, snare, etc.
By pairing it with the accompanying Oddball app, you can select from a range of drum sounds you want, and begin crafting your own beat, using loop, record and overdub functions built into the software.
The project was launched on Kickstarter and has already raised over $117,000 of its original $39,000 goal (as of the time of writing) – so expect this innovation to become readily available in 2019.
