Cape Town’s largest and most popular music festival is taking place this weekend, and if you’re a first-timer you may need a few survival tips
Here’s everything you need to know before attending your first Rocking The Daisies
Stay hydrated and remember to eat
You’re here to have a good time, so be sure not to let that Saturday morning hangover cut too much into your day. Stay hydrated by taking with some bottled water to sip on throughout the day. There are plenty of food trucks around the festival grounds for you to grab something to eat, but also take with some dried fruit to keep your vitamin count and stamina up.
Look after your valuables
Theft is something a few unlucky festival goers unfortunately have to deal with. Avoid this by leaving unnecessary valuables at home, and if you have to take certain valuables with get a small padlock to lock them up in your tent. Keep in mind there are also lockers available for a fee at the festival.
Put together a checklist before leaving
Arriving at the festival only to see that you’ve left your tent pegs at home is a guaranteed vibe killer. To make sure this doesn’t happen put together a checklist a few days before leaving, and then check everything off your list as you’re packing everything into your car.
Get enough sleep
While you might want to party non-stop, it’s also important to get enough sleep. Find out when your favourite bands / DJs are playing and work a sleeping schedule around that. Or simply turn in a little earlier for a good night’s sleep.
Control your alcohol intake
You’re there to party, but overdoing it too early means you could find yourself K.O on the first night. Pay special attention to not drinking too much too quickly, and have a glass of water in between drinks to ensure that you stay well hydrated.
