Following the rocky release of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung are hoping that their next flagship Galaxy model will come out as next year’s top smartphone
Here are all the Galaxy S8 rumours, pricing and release dates that we know so far
Samsung has a reputation for releasing some of the world’s leading smartphones, and we hardly expect that the Galaxy S8 will be any different. And while we’re still months away from it’s launch, and many of the details are still speculation, we do know a few juicy details that we can look forward to:
It may be the most gaming-powerful Galaxy model yet
Firstly, there’s a strong possibility that the Galaxy S8 may drop the Quad-HD display is favour of the more powerful 4K. The thinking behind this is that 4K display supports virtual reality much better than Quad-HD, and if we’ve learnt anything this year it’s that the entire gaming and software world is being taken over by VR.
The Galaxy S8 will also come equipped with either the Snapdragon 830 or the Exynos 8896 processor, both are probably the best CPU’s out there for running the most demanding apps. There will also likely be more RAM thrown in too in order to help with the more powerful processors
It could be coming with a dual lens camera
Dual-lens cameras are all the rage right now, being used on the LG G5, Huawei P9 and the iPhone 7. And after a patent was recently filed by Samsung for new technology, even more people are saying this would be for some kind of dual-camera tech.
Dual-lens cameras allow you to take clearer, richer photos from different angles and under more strenuous lighting conditions.
It might be coming sooner than you think
While there isn’t an official release date for the S8 yet, we can speculate on when the new Galaxy might be released:
• Galaxy S – March 2010
• Galaxy S2 – February 2011
• Galaxy S3 – May 2012
• Galaxy S4 – March 2013
• Galaxy S5 – February 2014
• Galaxy S6 – March 2015
• Galaxy S7 – February 2016
As we can see from the above, we’ve never had to wait longer than March for an international release date.
