Yesterday LG announced the G2, their new flagship smart phone. This is no ordinary smart phone as LG has created an industry first regarding where buttons are located. On most of the current top-of-the-range smart phones (iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One) the side buttons are for speaker control. LG has moved these button to the back of the G2.
The LG G2 brings everything together in a device with comfortable, functional, convenient and beautiful design. The LG G2 shifts the paradigm in smart phone design by placing all the buttons on the rear of the device (seen below), making this the first smart phone to be completely devoid of side buttons. The unique Rear Key concept came from the realization when studying users that the larger the phone became, the more difficult it was to properly access the side keys.

The G2 seems to be the first attempt by a manufacturer to completely go out on a limb to be unique. Does the change in design lead to more users acquitting the LG G2?
One very interesting feature is the Guest mode that the G2 has. It protects the owner’s privacy by displaying only pre-selected apps when guests access the phone with a secondary unlock pattern.
At the moment there is no indication whether the LG G2 will be available in South Africa but the device is definitely unique..
