Fashion for men has reached new heights. Men are becoming more conscious of the clothes that they put on their backs and designers like Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford and Michael Kors have made putting an outfit together an easy job for men.
Is the pleated trouser making a comeback?
Yes, you might think pleats are extremely old school and make you “look big” when all you want to do is look more slim, especially for summer. However, these new pleated pants are more slim-cut and sophisticated and will give you a more streamlined and less outdated look.
“Fashion is very important. It is life-enhancing and, like everything that gives pleasure, it is worth doing well.” – Vivienne Westwood
Printed bomber jackets are also in vogue this season.
The Type A-2 leather flight jacket is a military flight jacket closely associated with World War II U.S. Army Air Forces pilots, navigators and bombardiers, who often decorated their jackets with squadron patches and elaborate artwork painted on the back. Sometimes casually referred to as a bomber jacket, its original designation was “Jacket, Pilot’s (summer)”, and its wartime usage was limited neither to pilots nor to bomber crews.
And of course, you can’t go anywhere this summer without a stylish flip-flop
Some fun facts about the flip-flop:
- They are the oldest form of footwear. There are images from rock paintings of prehistoric man wearing a type of toe thong!
- They were known as Flip Flaps until the 1960’s.
- They became popular in the US after the Korean War of the 1950’s and were made out of cheap rubber that caused terrible blisters!
- As a cheap item of footwear, kids soon started to wear them to the pool and on holiday in bright colours with flowers and motifs adorning them.
