With the Xbox Series X arriving in late 2020, Microsoft has unveiled a handful of new games that’ll launch alongside their next-gen console. We’ve rounded up 5 of the most exciting gaming releases that we can’t wait to get our hands on:
CrossfireX
For those who like a little bit of explosive, Call of Duty-esque action, you’ll want to keep your eyes on CrossfireX. Coming from Remedy, who brought us the original Max Payne and last year’s brilliant Control, CrossfireX is a high-octane first-person shooter that looks spectacular, with slow-motion gunplay and over-the-top set-pieces. Taking control of a number of different characters in a private military force, you’re exposed to a world of espionage and secret conflicts, but like many other Remedy games, there’s more than meets the eye in CrossfireX, as there are some unusual happenings in the world of CrossfireX.
Forza Motorsport
The long-running racing franchise Forza is getting a soft-reboot of sorts with the simply-titled Forza Motorsport. Thanks to an in-engine trailer for the eighth primary entry in the series, we got to see some breathtaking graphics and hyper-realistic car models, and it’s exciting to finally be getting a truly next-gen iteration of one of the premier racing franchises.

State of Decay 3
Despite some technical hiccups, open-world zombie survival franchise State of Decay has built quite the fanbase, and the beloved series is getting a new release of Xbox Series X. Besides a snowy setting, there aren’t any specific details, but the trailer did reveal a zombified deer, so it’s safe to say that the human undead won’t be the only things trying to eat you in the world of State of Decay 3.
Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite picks up where Halo 5 wrapped-up, but is almost a homecoming for the long-running FPS franchise. The game looks very familiar and won’t be too jarring to longtime fans, but there are some new tricks up Master Chief’s armoured-sleeves, including a grappling hook for traversal and a new semi open-world design which should inject some freshness into the franchise.

The Medium
Fans of Silent Hill will want to tae note of The Medium, which is a new third-person psychological horror game that will be making its way to Microsoft’s new console. The Medium comes from Polish developer Bloober Team, and tells the story of Marianne, a medium who has the ability to move between the real and spirit realms, and dealing with the horrors that await on either side. There is a really interesting realm-switching mechanic which can be done on-the-fly, which should create some haunting moments and trippy sequences, and we can’t wait!
