While there are quite a few noteworthy movies coming out in April 2018, there’s no doubt that the star of the show will be Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War – a blockbuster 10 years in the making, it’s sure to draw big crowds in April. This South African film has made big waves on the international scene and is getting heaps of praise. While Western-esque in its narrative and genre, the film is executed brilliantly. The story plays out in a fictional South African town and follows the journey of a boy and his friends on a mission to rid their town of corrupt cops. Along, with an incredible cast, this innovative story is brought to life with excellent cinematography and relatable characters that are sure to make you think.

MARK FELT: THE MAN WHO BROUGHT DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE

If you’ve always wanted to know more about the US ‘Watergate Scandal’, then this will be right up your alley. The film follows the investigative journalists who uncovered what is considered to be one of the biggest political scandals in American history – and which later lead to US president Richard Nixon being impeached for his involvement. Starring Liam Neeson as the title character it’s sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!

A QUIET PLACE

Starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, this film marks Krasinski’s directorial debut and is a seemingly novel take on the typical horror genre. The story follows a family who must live out their daily lives in near silence, because if they don’t, they’ll be hunted down by bizarre creatures that are sensitive to sound. The spars use of sound during the film is said to keep tensions high throughout the movie, and will no doubt keep horror fans on the edge of their seats the whole way through.

RAMPAGE

This adaptation from the 1986 video game of the same name sees Dwayne Johnson take on the role of a scientist who sets out to cure his albino gorilla friend after he’s affected by a strange experiment that turns him into a massive, rampaging beast. It’s set to be a thrilling sci-fi adventure with the likes of Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan rounding out a solid cast.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

The movie Marvel fans have been waiting for is finally here and this time around the film sees every hero that can possibly join the fight versus Thanos come together to save the universe. The scope and size of Infinity War will rival pretty much any effects-driven film we’ve seen thus far, and for that reason alone, it’s probably worth the price of admission.
