There have been some amazing games this year, but there are always a few smaller releases slipping under the radar. We have highlighted 3 games that deserve a little more attention this month.
Sea of Solitude
Available on: Xbox One | PS4 | PC
Sea of Solitude is an incredibly unique game, focusing on story and narrative, which tells a tale about a girl named Kay in a submerged city searching for answers as to why mysterious monsters stalk her. It has a slow and wandering gameplay style (which may not be everyone’s cup of tea), but it has some deep emotional weight that very few games are able to achieve.
Dragon Quest Builders 2
Available on: Xbox One | PS4 | PC | Switch
Price: from R724
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a huge improvement on the first game, bringing a far larger and more detailed world than in the first game, allowing you to swim and fly in new areas, while building on the creation and RPG mechanics from the original. There’s a new multiplayer component, allowing players to team up with friends to help them explore and build; but the real winning-addition is the enhanced narrative and quests of the campaign that’ll lure in fans of traditional RPGs.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled
Available on: Xbox One | PS4 | PC | Switch
Price: from R549
1999’s Playstation classic Crash Team Racing has received a full remake with some dramatically updated visuals and controls, along with redone version of the old zany tracks and competition-levelling power-ups Nitro-Fueled also adds several new features, including online multiplayer and a revamped story mode. While it also haves online multiplayer, when playing split-screen co-op (something completely overlooked with today’s game), no racing game comes close to Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled‘s fun.
